Experiments: Another Go At Neutral Makeup & My Struggles With My Canon Ixus...

My Experiments With My Canon Ixus 255 HS And Neutral Makeup

You know what is the most frustrating thing that can happen to a beauty blogger? At least to me? Take all the time in the world to choose an outfit, accessories, do your makeup that actually turns out beautiful and then your camera fails you! Yes it simply fails you... The worst part? It even tricks you!

I got a camera (Canon Ixus 255 HS) as a pre-birthday gift. It is what I wanted. It is what I has researched for... I got it... I was ecstatic... And then the issues started... The camera clicks well... It has superb shutter speed... It even lets me click in burst mode... But all pictures come out with an Orange cast... So initially I thought I had received a defective piece and so I googled "Canon Ixus 255 Orange Cast" and voila I found the issue... The stupid camera has an HS attached after it's name which is short for "HyperSensitivity (to light?)" and well the Orange cast is due to the fluorescent lights I use while shooting at night :/

Sighhhhhhhhhh...

All my hard work gone waste... But I am still going ahead and posting some pictures that I clicked of the Nude/Neutral Makeup I did the other day... It's a part of my ongoing experiments with no liners and no kajals :)

Because of the Orange cast, it looks like I have been baking myself in the sun lying on some remote beach and sipping Mojitos... Alas! It's just my freaking camera not understanding me :/

Makeup Products Used
1. MAC Face & Body Foundation (Review HERE)
2. Kryolan Translucent Loose Powder
3. MAC Patina Eyeshadow on the lid
4. MAC Folie Eyeshadow in the crease
5. MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow on the browbone (Review HERE)
6. Colorbar Powder Blush in Plum Brown (Review HERE)
7. Ellis Faas Mascara in E401 (Review HERE)
8. Colorbar True Gloss in Natural Tan (Review HERE)

So tell me... Does this neutral makeup thing work on me? Did I even get it right?

P.S. I don't think this look suits me :/ I miss my kajal :(

Note: It may seem that I am nude as well, however please note that I am wearing clothes! It just happens to be a tube dress and well it obviously doesn't show in the pictures :/ I realised it after editing :(

  9. yeah yeah .... we know you are not nude hehe !
Its not that the look doesnt suit you . It does suit you , but its too pale and gives a washed out look , SO add a li'le more colours and it will be balanced . Just add a few more colours , specifically coral shade to balance out the washed out look . It will be fine .

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
