Blush Recommendations for NC42 and Indian Skintone

ISLM Recommendations for Blushes that suit Medium (NC42) Skintone

Lydia asks,
Hello Ladies,
I m in love with blushes these days. Can you recommend some for NC42

Blushes transform your look and has the ability to brighten up your face and take your look from a mere 5 to a sizzling 10... I realized their significance a little late in life but since the day I did, I haven't looked back...

For blushes that would suit medium skintones (popularly NC42), would be as follows...
Of course all readers are urged to help me out here and add their favorite NC42 suitable blushes as well :)

1. Maybelline Blush in Apricot Flush (Review HERE)

It is a peachy, rose-gold kind of a shade with tiny golden shimmer... It warms up your complexion and is perfect for wearing at night.

2. Colorbar Blush in Floral Fuchsia (Review HERE)

Now this is one of my favorite powder blushes and has a berry tint in it. It is essentially a matte powder blush with very sparse silver shimmer particles. It is one shade that would suit *all* Indian skintones. I am on my second pan of the blush.

3. Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown (Review HERE)

Another favorite, especially for work. It is a matte neutral shade that gives a healthy and a natural flushed look. It is perfect for NC36 but it can be built up to suit NC 42-45 as well.

4. MAC Fleur Powder

This is hands-down a favorite blush with all Indian beauties. It is a pink blush with a satin finish and can be worn as an everyday blush.

5. Sleek Blush in Rose Gold

This I think is a dupe for NARS Orgasm and I have been trying to get my hands on this little beauty but it always is out of stock on the Sleek website... It is this Coral shade with a lot of golden shimmer that looks insanely gorgeous on festive occasions!

6. MAC Gingerly

This is another goto blush for a lot of Indian beauties. It is a terracotta-ish shade with Orange undertones and hence adds that warmth to your complexion... It has a matte finish.

7. MAC Ambering Rose

Now this is blush when used right can make you sizzle and if overdone then nothing can save you... But a little practice and you would make this your HG blush. It is a corally-brownish shade with quite a bitter of Golden shimmer...

8. Lakme Absolute Baked Blushes

Lakme generally makes shades that suit the Indian skintone to the "Tee" and these baked blushes are no different. Pick up any shade and it is guaranteed to suit you :)

9. Illamasqua Morale (Review HERE)

This is another tricky blush that needs a little practice. Just once sweep and you are good to go. Do not try to build it up cause it will not look good... I am talking out of experience :)
Btw it looks like this super bright blue based pink but in reality it is is much more muted when applied. It does have a chunky silver shimmer and hence it can be used as a substitute for highlighting for cheekbones. I use it that way :)

10. Maxfactor Cream Blush in Soft Copper

This is a cream blush that I love... It is a beginners dream cause the blush itself is really sheer and you can go on building it up with looking OTT. It is a copperish shade and just a couple of sweeps gives you a natural glow.

11. Ellis Faas S303 & 304 Cream Blushes (Review HERE)

They are my most favorite blushes in the world in terms of both the shade and the longevity. S303 is a muted yellowish brown while S304 is a full blown terracotta shade. Both are extremely flattering to warm skintones and may not really suit women with cooler undertones.

12. Bourjois Paris Blush in 33 Lilas D'Or (Review HERE)

It is a peachy pink blush with golden shimmer and is versatile for both a day as well as night wear.

I am sure there are many other blushes in the market that should be mentioned here and so I urge all readers to add their 2 cents as well :)

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In NC42

Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In Shade NC42

Guest Post By: Rmyah

There are days when I just cannot help look at myself through any reflective surface that I can. Be it mirrors, glass doors, rear view mirrors, the back of a spoon and even a pond. And then there are days when I wished everyone was blind, every mirror shattered, the serene water turbulent, anything to avoid me seeing my face. One such day when my skin was going through a blearrrgh phase I decided to put my face on the web and show you how I deal with it. My savior is the MAC studio fix fluid foundation which has been my HG foundation for about three months now.
