Collaboration Post: Makeup for Office

Work Appropriate Makeup & Fashion In Collaboration With LookingGoodFeelingFab

One major perk of going to work in addition to the paycheck at the beginning of each month is the opportunity it gives me to get all dolled up... At least on the days I am up early ;) Honestly speaking, I find doing makeup for office more challenging than for when I am going partying or anywhere else for that matter... Why? Cause Office makeup requires a margin of deliberation and quite a lot of thought needs to go in in order to look Work appropriate...

Now,most of the times my makeup is dictated by the mood I am in and hence today I have done two looks that on one hand are very close to each other while on the other could not look any more different...

2. Kryolan Professional Translucent Loose Powder

Breakup of Office Appropriate Makeup

1. Since the makeup is for office that sees us put in long hours at a stretch, it is extremely important to get your base right. I would suggest using a light foundation that allows you to "breathe" and yet give you a put-together look. I have used MAC Face & Body Foundation. Also setting your foundation with powder should be a must.
2. Using concealer is optional and is dependent on the amount of coverage your skin needs.
3. Doing your brows should be an important step as it makes your eyes look brighter and more alert.
4. Now I love doing smokey eyes but to make it office appropriate I have kept the smoked out effect to the minimum. If you are not confident about it then I would suggest skipping it altogether.
5. In order to make my eyes look bright and yet not OTT, I have used a neutral eye shadow called MAC Patina.
6. For some added drama I have lined my eyes with kohl and have applied a volumising as well as a lengthening mascara.
7. If you are wearing foundation you would want to add some color to your face with the help of a blush. However, do keep in mind to keep the blush on the natural side. Avoid pinks and shimmery finish blushes, rather opt for warm corals or peaches.
8. If you are feeling IT then wear a red matte lipstick else stick to a pale pink nude.

I hope this tutorial of sorts helps you with your office makeup :)

In order to help you decide on what you should wear to work that looks professional and yet has a hint of sensuality then head over to LookingGoodFeelingFab. Abhilasha as usual has created another masterpiece of an outfit and I cannot wait to glam up my office attire all thanks to her :) Here's a little glimpse...

This is the second post in the Collaboration series I am doing with LookingGoodFeelingFab. Stay tuned for more glamour ;)

  1. I always relate to words you write about yourself, That is why I like you maybe! It is true. Dressing up for work is more difficult than for a party or an outing esp if working in a hospital. I ve to restrict myself in so many ways. But sometimes when I am in colourful mood, be it for make up or dress, I just don't care about what others think. It makes you feel good about myself. That's enough!!

    1. wow! we think kitna alike! :D Yeah i can imagine how much more difficult it must be for you and of course other makeup loving doctors to actually decide what makeup to wear to work! I mean wow difficult it must be ya... WHy don't you do a post about it? Am sure there are others like me who'd love to know! :)
And thank you for liking me sooo much :D mmuuaaahhhh ♥

  2. The look is beautiful :) Natural and the red lipstick on you :)

  3. You look beautiful... Loved the first look.
    Now a request..
can you please do a tut on office makeup for dusky skintones?

  4. Nice post Samyukta. I too wonder daily how to get ready for office.

  5. You are seriously a Doll <3. Looking very pretty. You speak My mind.. Every day I have same story.. what to wear what makeup. ..arghh !! I guess every one has the same story... I skip eye shadows most of the time but I wear bright lippy almost everyday... I have pigmented lips. I prefer matte Red, Pink or Berry lips and everyone in office is used to it as well...Thank god .. No one gives me that.. OMG look...he he ;)

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
