REVIEW: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia

Review of Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick - Asia

Guest Post By: Shabby

Rimmel was once a brand which was earlier out of reach for us Indians but thanks to an online portal names Slassy.com now we have access to many products from Rimmel at reasonable prices. So how I got this lipstick is a strange story. From when these came into the market I was so eager to try this shade and 'Heart Breaker' shade but sadly Heart Breaker is almost always Out of Stock so I picked up two promising shades named 'Asia' and 'Tantrum' instead.

Price of Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks

Rs 215 for 4g product which is quite nice

Packaging:
This one was a total turnoff for me as I expected the packaging to be a little bit more good- quality wise. It looks like cheap plastic of dark plum shade with a metal ring in the middle below the cap. The words 'Rimmel London' is inscribed on it. On the bottom there is a small color coded sticker with the shade name and Shade number which I found quiet thoughful. The lipstick's cap has the 'Rimmel London's' logo etched into it. Everything is good except the cheap looking plastic. But for the  price of these lippies I should not be complaining.

The lipstick has a strong artificial sweet fragrance which I feel is a bit harsh. But luckily it goes away in a while.

The Shade 'Asia' is a beautiful N*de shade with a tinge of Pink. I love how natural it looks on my skin tone. I find it very hard to find a true N*de shade for my skintone . It does not wash me out or look pale like the Maybelline's Totally Toffee. It's just perfect period.
So you may feel that this shade is just perfect to team up with a Smoky eye or for your work.

So we move on to the Pros and Cons...

Pros:
1. Decent Pricing
2. Good shades which compliment Indian skintones
3. A N*de shade with a little bit of pink
4. Will suit those with yellow undertones perfectly
5. Glides on smoothly and does not settle in fine lines

Cons:
1. Available only through the online site at most locations(Except those few lucky areas which have stores having Rimmel)
2. Shade selection becomes difficult online
3. Strong sweet artificial smell might be too harsh for sensitive noses.

So what are you guys waiting for do grab some of these lippes while they are in stock online. They are great for the price tag they come with.

Comments

  1. I have this liipi and used it my last fotd. It's a pretty pink shade indeed, but I don't love it that much also the fragrance is a major turn off . I love to use it with my Inglot lip pencil underneath, which gives asia, a hint of peach. I have heartbreaker , which is gorgeous btw :)

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
