Revlon Royal Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Paint

Guest Post By: Manu

Recently, when Suma “the” Sharma (yes that is how we address each other) came up with her favorite brands for products, I knew we would definitely share the favoritism for nail paints brand. Colorbar it was, for us, to take away the title for ‘Best Nail Paints’!  But we don’t swear buying all the products from our favorites. Do we? I am pretty sure you know the feeling, when you are dying to get that particular shade but you are not able to get it – SIIGH!

Last week, while I was in Delhi, we went out shopping JLT and my eyes couldn’t believe to find it there. Woohoo. Ladies, please welcome my new nail paint in my favorite color – Royal Blue, not from the Colorbar, for a change but from REVLON this time?.

This is a bright blue, gorgeous shade from the Top Speed range which claims to set in 60 seconds and I swear it does! It delivers the glossy effect with a very smooth finish. The claim for built in top coat is also not up to the mark, at least for a person like since I have the cleaning maniac?.

Personally, I did not find the brush very appealing, cannot say if it is with this bottle or generally the brushes for Revlon are too harsh? I would leave it to you to find out! Overall, I would like to get back to this color over and over because I loooooove this shade.

Price of Revlon Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Paints:

It costs INR 220/- for 8 ml.

Overall Rating:
9/10 (purposely deducted 1 for brush quality)

The Top Speed range is available in 32 shades with a mix of bright and bare category. I plan to try ‘Ocean’ and ‘Violet’ also from this range.

Did you like the royalty of this blue shade? Have you tried any other shades in this range?

  1. Even I love colorbar. And few months back I discovered the amazing world of Revlon polishes. I never wear colors for long (5 days or more ) so, never discovered it earlier but realized recently that Revlon colors makes nails yellow. I initially felt that it is only for greens which have high yellow content but I see it for all colors. The same never happened with colorbar or maybelline. Let me know how it fairs after 5-6 days.

Same pinch for color bar ;)... ohhh thanks for your input abt yellowing nails... sad it is.. let me get back to u after a few days.. :-) but generally I do take care of my nails using lemon juice and baking powder....though i fail to follow it religiously... even with color bar dark shades my nails tend to turn yellow.. :(...

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
