Featuring (LOTD): Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette

Green Blue Eye Makeup

I essentially started beauty blogging with a handful of products mostly from Oriflame. You see I was an Oriflame consultant that time. If you go back to my initial LOTD/EOTD posts, you'll observe that all my looks were created using Oriflame palettes that I would keep buying from the catalogues every month and I was blissfully happy :) And then I got myself the Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette and my world changed. I started considering myself to be in the big leagues... But well it was only in my head :P

Then as time went by, I got introduced to the world of MAC and Inglot and my poor little Coastal Scents palette lay forgotten in the recesses of my vanity... But it has always been special... Not only because of the spectrum of colors it offers but because it marked a beginning of a new phase in my beauty blogging journey... I suddenly felt grown up, ordering makeup from overseas and having something in common with all the huge beauty bloggers of the world :) Yup this palette (or variations of it) is one thing that is common between all beauty blogger across the globe, isn't it? :)

So anyways... Tonight, after dinner, I had this extreme urge to do something different makeup-wise and well this is what I came up with... It wasn't planned... I just started using colors at random... This particular look uses 7 shades from the palette :)

Makeup Breakup
I tried to give myself a fake tan by using a foundation that is a shade darker than I am. Then I heavily contoured my face cause if you have seen me in my YouTube videos, you'll know that I border towards chubby ;) I did not do a winged liner this time cause the eyeshadows that I used were already screaming for attention...

  4. Your eyeshadow looks beautiful but your foundation looks a liiitle too dewy..I'd love to see the rest of your face less shiny and more matte! You also don't really need all that heavy contouring because you look beautiful without it!

  8. awesome work Samyukta...yes,that CS palette is common between us all....but again, I think it lies ignored because we (I ,particularly) only bought it to try out various color combinations and once got an idea about what colors look good and what don't, we feel much safer to invest in good quality makeup...It's a great palette to practice with for beginners IMO..

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
