MAC Cremesheen Lipstick Lickable Review

Review of MAC Cremesheen Lipstick Lickable...

Are you a lipstick girl or an eye shadow girl? Nope am not talking about what you prefer. Rather what I am trying to elicit from you here is which out of the two products do you first get drawn to at a makeup store or a counter? Is it an eyeshadow or a lipstick that you know you are sure gonna walk out of the store with? It's easy for me. When I am at MAC, I am an eyeshadow girl through and through, while at all other stores/counters, it is a lippy that I am partial towards... No logic whatsoever but this is exactly how it has been :)

So the last time I visited the MAC store, I made it a point to buy a lippy and well like they say Where there's a will, there's a way, I walked out with two lippies and one eyeshadow :P Needless to say that out of the two lippies, one was a pink and one a red :D

The pink lippy question here is MAC Lickable and to take it home, it had to win over MAC Girl About Town and MAC Impassioned. What made me buy it over the other two is it's ability to be more wearable for every occasion. Simple!

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick Lickable Review

MAC Lickable is a clean, blue toned pink and doesn't appear neon-y. It is a deep pink that makes you go for a sophisticated hair-do, pump heels and a classy outfit. It gives an opaque coverage and girls with pigmented lips would love this. Just one swipe and it gives you that praiseworthy dash of opaque pink on your lips. It has MAC signature's Vanilla smell that vanishes in a couple of seconds after application. It glides on smoothly and isn't drying. It stays on for quite sometime and then fades into a stain.

Now let me come to the part that bothers me. I haven't quite been able to put my finger on the exact issue that I have with Lickable. I just get this feeling that it has a kind of a frosted finish. Nope, I am not talking about the 90's Madhuri Dixit frost but like a subtle almost negligible frost. You see if you look at the lippy closely you'll see shimmer but it isn't really obvious lips. But when I say wipe off the lippy with a wet tissue, the color goes away but it leaves behind this trail of silver shimmer all around my mouth and honestly it confuses me...

You guys be the judge...

Oooohhhss And Aaaahhhsss!!!
1. Opaque coverage
2. Superb pigmentation
3. Pretty long stay
4. A very wearable bright pink. Does not even border on Neon-y
5. Outstanding quality.
6. Part of the permanent collection and hence easily available at all MAC stores.
7.  Does not dry out the lips

Ouches!!!
1. Expensive
2. Has a little shimmer to it.

Repurchase?
I don't think so... I prefer lippies that have no glitter/shimmer subtle or otherwise! :/

Recommendation?
Hmmmm... It's almost a classic shade and if you don't mind a hint of negligible shimmer then you'll love the shade... But still, I would suggest you to try it out at the store first and then purchase :)

Overall Rating:
8/10

  2. I have to agree with you, am not liking the shimmer either .. it does look frosty when u look at the lip swatch ..doesn't look appealing in the lip swatch but looks awesome on u in the full face pic .. probably because its not closeup ..the color looks amazing on u .. would just have been better without shimmer .. Sorry am i too negative ?

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
