Review Of L'Occitane Mango Flower Lip Balm...
Its been more than 10 years that I have been staying in Pune. So much so that I call it my city now. Whenever anyone asks me as to where I belong to, I in order to escape the mess of trying to make them understand my part Bengali, part Manipuri lineage to which now Punjabi has been added as well, I end up telling them I am a Pune-ite. Of course half the people gawk at me with disbelief for the sole reason of me claiming to be a Mongoloid Maharashtrian but then India is growing up and it isn't about states and communities anymore :)So, anyways... What I am trying to say is that I have been in Pune long enough to see it grow and become this all accommodating cosmopolitan city. From being a pensioner's paradise where retired people settled to some peace and quiet to being the Oxford of the East where students from all over the world came to do their engineering, then architecture and now MBA to finally being one of India's growing mecca for IT professionals, Pune has welcomed all and made them her own. And in this transition I have witnessed the city acquire it's first Mc Donald's, then a Pizza Hut, then Dominos and finally KFC. Imagine my joy when Mango, Zara, MAC and Clinique first opened shop here... And then came L'Occitane... Ah! Pure Bliss!
Even though it's been more than a year that L'Occitane started their first store here in Pune, it wasn't until two weekends before that I finally stepped into their Pune flagship store. And what a delight it was! From the gorgeous and pretty unique packaging to heavenly scents emanating from various corners of the store to the most adorable SAs ever, I loved everything about it. I used the adjective adorable to describe the SAs! The icing on the cake was seeing my favorite Body Shop SA working at L'Occitane! Yup! I took it as a sign from God to start shifting my loyalties from The Body Shop to L'Occitane! Kidding!
Or am I?
The first product that I bought that day was the L'Occitane Mango FLower Lip Balm. Now I am honestly not really a mango person, give me mint and I am overjoyed but the exoticness of Mango and Date Flower Lip Balm totally enthralled me. I almost got myself the Date flavored product when I chanced to smell the Mango version and well rest as they say is history...
What made me choose Mango, you ask... You see the Mango flavor at L'Occitane isn't exactly the full bodied, yummy Alphonso mango flavor that you generally expect. Rather it is the smell of mangoes that remind you of your summer vacations as a kid. Yup it smells of the "langda" or rather the "totapuri" species of mango and if you have spent your childhood in India then even you wouldn't be able to resist it!
So I bought it!
Now coming to the part where I tell you about the balm like properties of the product and this is when I tell you that I give the product a 100 on 100. It is a fabulous product that has the lightness of no lip product I have ever worn and the comforting moisturising property of milk cream... It stays on forever. It stayed under my Colorbar Velvet Matte lippy for more than 7 hours with coffee breaks and lunch in between. It is fabulousness guaranteed!
However, you might not find it too fabulous for your pocket :/
