REVIEW: Faces Long Wear Pencil In Dark Green

Faces Long Wear Pencil In Dark Green

No Shimmer... No Glitter...
Post By: Marianne

Hey everyone!
I’m here again with a review of one of my all time favourite products.
I love coloured eye pencils. They are subtle enough to not attract unwanted stares (which I hate!), yet eye-catching enough to earn you a few compliments from friends. They are in fact the only makeup I wear to university (apart from kajal, compact powder and lip balm...but well, you can’t count those as makeup, right? :D). And Faces Long wear eye pencils are perfect for those mornings when I’m getting ready in a rush!

The pencil comes with a coloured cap and end to match the shade. It has a soft and creamy texture and glides on super tugging at our eyelids. It is amazingly swipe and you are sorted! It sets quite fast after you apply it, but not so fast you’d have to be a ninja if you want to go for a smudged look. It is, however, completely smudge proof after it sets. It is waterproof too...washing your face isn’t going to make your liner vanish, unless maybe if you rub your eyes really hard while wet. True to claims, it is really long wear – I line my oily eyelids at 8.30 in the morning, and it is still there at 6.30 when I come back home, albeit with slight fading in the corners. For such a long wearing product, you would think you’d have to struggle to get it off your skin – but no, it gets removed in a jiffy with baby oil, my staple makeup remover. Sharpening the pencil with my Lakme sharpener didn’t present any problems.

A word of caution, though – be careful not to exert too much pressure while using this pencil. Once when I was opening the cap of a brand new brown one, it broke the tip right off (my reaction? I burst into mom looked at me like I was crazy!).
The shade Dark Green is a matte green shade. I was originally planning to get Forest Green (a beautiful shimmery green) but got this one in a mix-up. It was a bit of a disappointment because the shade is kind of flat and can look a bit dull sometimes. Nevertheless, I find myself using it often and quite like it. But I’m still going to pick up Forest Green when I get a chance to.

Yay! –
  1. ·       Easy to locate in a stash of products
  2. ·       Soft texture, easy to apply
  3. ·       Smudge-proof, waterproof
  4. ·       Well pigmented
  5. ·       Stays on and on!
  6. ·       Sharpens fairly easily
Umm... –
  1. ·       A bit of product wastage while sharpening (inevitable with pencils, really)
  2. ·       Soft texture (a pro while applying, but a con when the tip breaks with pressure)
How big a dent will it make in the wallet?
Faces eye pencils were priced very affordably at INR 249. Recently, the price was hiked to INR 349 (now why did you have to go and do that, Faces?). I was in a store a couple of weeks back and they were still selling it for 250 bucks. I checked a few online shopping websites, and some of them are retailing these pencils for 350 rupees, while some are still retailing them at the old price.

Will I repurchase?
YES! Planning to get more shades.

Recommendation –
Recommended to all of you. With the price being hiked, now may be the best time to grab this baby in your favourite shades. Do give it a try; you’ll definitely like it!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
