Makeup When I Have The Dreaded Flu...

I have always been extremely susceptible to the Flu :/ I have to have it at every season change. It's almost like a weather forecast that my body does before we embark into what the coming season offers... People keep telling me that this happens because I have weak immunity and that I should have a lot of Vitamin C and all that... Now I am person who has Oranges/Apples/Strawberries and Amla in my diet everyday single day so I doubt I have a Vitamin C deficiency and well as far as a weak immunity is concerned, it's only the Flu that catches up with me... My body seems to be quite immune to other viruses doing the rounds... Well anyways, the post isn't really about the deficiencies in my body but how I actually combat the flu in terms of makeup ;)

So going ahead, this is what I do...

MAKEUP BREAKUP
  1. I apply absolutely no base makeup. Because of tending to my runny nose with tissues, I do not apply any foundation.
  2. But do remember to slather on a lot of moisturiser suitable for your skin. During the flu, our skin tends to get very dry and so it is important to keep it hydrated and moisturised.
  3. My eyes are generally very watery during this time and hence I do not use any liquid liners to line my eyes. As a matter of fact, I do not apply any liner on my upper lashline.
  4. I am a kajal addict and hence I always need something to line my lower waterline. But instead of using a BLACK kajal, I use either a blue or a green pencil liner. The reason is if your lower waterline is darker than your upper lashline, then you end up looking tired. Therefore instead of going all black, I user lighter shades of blue and green that also add a little zing.
  5. I do use generous coats of waterproof mascara on my upper lashes only.
  6. I apply my favorite powder blush on my cheekbones to give a little color to my face.
  7. Wear a bright MATTE shade of lipstick and I am ready to go :)
What is your being sick makeup routine?

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
