REVIEW: AuraVedic Ritual Cleansing Ubtan Mask with Sandal & Saffron

Post By: Manu

During my childhood days, I remember how my mother helped me keep my skin perfect and glowing! All thanks to my mother for taking those efforts to prepare this ‘MAGIC’ called ‘UBTAN’ J. She churned sandalwood sticks to get a paste, added a little turmeric, some portion of gram flour powder, a pinch of neem powder and dry fenugreek leaves. Wooow! And there it was! My ‘MAGIC’ to have glowing and healthy skin.

Siiigghhhhh! What do I do now?? We are married, away from our angel mothers, getting busier in lives, who has the time to buy the stuff first and then prepare it? And then the confusion created by ‘n’ number of options out there as a proxy to our mother’s ‘MAGIC’. However, I came across this excellent product ‘Cleansing Ubtan Mask – Sandal Saffron’ and voila! It brought back old childhood memories!

‘Cleansing Ubtan Mask – Sandal Saffron’ is a face mask powder perfect for getting a smooth and glowing skin. This is extremely helpful for a dull skin to regain the flawless, facial skin.

What Aura Vedic claims about Cleansing Ubtan Mask?
It is 100% natural, prepared from a traditional formulation of natural herbs. Natural extracts of Sandal, turmeric and Saffron ensures that the beauty of skin is nourished and enhanced. Free of Parabens, SLS, Harmful Chemicals and Colors.

Oooohhhsss And Aaaahhhsss!!!
1. Excellent for skin rejuvenation after a long tiring day J.
2. The smell is utmost soothing due to its sandalwood and saffron extract.
3. It comprises of conventional formulas (Neem, Bengal gram, Ambe Haldi, Fenugreek seeds Basil) which helps to prevail skin nourishment.
4. Its usage on face has a softening effect and also helps in removing black heads.

1. Due to high concentration of natural extracts, essential oils and floral waters this product may not suitable for all skin types.
2. The content of ambe haldi is slightly on higher side; refrain from keeping the paste for more than 10 minutes else you may experience yellow staining.
For dry skin users, try it out with warm baby/olive oil or raw/un-boiled milk. For oily skin, this would create wonders when mixed rose water.

It costs INR 200/- for 50 gms.

Overall Rating:

P.S. Product sent by PR for consideration. However, my review is honest and is in no way biased.

Oh right, Raaga! Even I end up like it at times ;).. but, then I also have a way to get rid of it.. apply some lemon juice (for 10 mins) soon after removing the mask, it might help :)

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
