MIA Alert!!

Hello ladies... And Gentlemen :) This is an MIA alert to let everyone know that I am leaving for Hyderabad today with family... And when I say family I mean both sets of parents for my little kiddie sister's Passing Out Parade :) Yup! She is getting commissioned into the Indian Air Force as a lady pilot officer! Yippee!! :D So we'll be in Hyderabad for a couple of days and I really do wish I could meet some of you Hyderabad beauties but alas I have a feeling I will be very busy being the perfect "bahu", daughter and well sister ;) #FamilyTime...

But am gonna be in touch with you all through ISLM, FB and Twitter #ThankGodFor3G. Ha ha!

Also, am so sorry that I am not being regular with my posts or even comments... Just that I have been really busy with my in-laws visiting us :) I am actually having super fun getting the "bahu-bahu" feeling for the first time ;) *Touchwood*... My mom-in-law really makes life so much easier for me :)

But people do keep posting…

My Experience with Jabong.com

Since the day I started my make-up ban, I have been getting my dose of retail therapy by shopping for apparels and lately home decor. While going through these home decor sites, I ended up at jabong.com.

Now of course everyone has heard about Jabong, even I had, but with all the mixed reviews (some negative and some downright glowing), I wasn't really keen on trying it out. But while browsing a particular lantern caught my fancy and I thought of giving the site a try :P (Yup I was feeling adventurous)! LOL :D Now since am blogging from office and I forgot to click pics of the lantern in question, you can check it out here. The lantern looked so vintage and so Victorian that a enthusiastic home decorator like me had to have it :P I have placed it next to my glassware cabinet and well it does look really pretty :)

Anyways, coming back to my experience with Jabong, let me tell you all, it was surprisingly good. I mean scouring through so many products wasn't really difficult for…

Celebrity MakeUp: Sameera Reddy

Not very often do we need to fault Sameera Reddy's makeup but unfortunately today isn't one of those days. Looking at the picture below, I cannot help but feel that there is something wrong with her makeup. Yes I said makeup and not the outfit cause the outfit deserves another post altogether :P LOL...

So anyways, coming back to the makeup, I really feel that there is something not working in it. It's difficult to say what it is really but I feel that the foundation has not been blended well and perhaps the shade of the foundation isn't matching her skin tone... Or maybe it is too much SPF in her base makeup?

What do you thin could be the issue?

What To Wear: To A Marriage where You are the MUA and my Experience

Ha ha the scenario I describe in the title of the post is quite rare, but well not entirely impossible now is it? :) Yup! I had been asked to do a bridal makeup for a traditional maharashtrian-kannada wedding on Sunday by my friend's friend... The thing is the bride "Shruti" had returned from Switzerland just two weeks before her wedding and well the scramble for getting clothes stitched, booking parlours and well getting trial makeup done was having a toll on her. She took trials from a couple of parlors and MUAs for her bridal makeup but wasn't very happy with the results... Then when she was lamenting to Shweta (a common friend and ISLM follower), Shweta recommended her to try out a couple of trials with me (ahem!) :P And once I did my first look, she fell in love with it so much that she asked me to do her bridal (wedding and reception) makeup :D Yay! Now as I do take up occasional requests for bridal makeup as well as party makeup and plus she was a friend'…

REVIEW: MakeUpForEver Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in Shade 34

Nothing spells sophistication like a matte red lipstick (a la Marilyn Monroe?)... And nothing spells feminine and fragile like a pink lipstick... Raise hands if you agree :)

Today I am gonna be introducing you all to my all time favorite pink lippy that I got a couple of months of back and well I have been hooked. Ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for MUFE Rouge Artist IntenseLipstick in Shade 34. It is a creamy matte lipstick that glides on smoothly on your lips and gives full coverage. It is transfer resistant and well just doesn't budge the entire night. Even though it has a matte texture, it is not drying at all, rather it is quite hydrating. But I love it cause it is a beautiful shade of deep pink.

On the downside, it isn't really a unique shade. It can be duped rather easily, but quality wise it isn't second to anything.

In The Spotlight: Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm

I am here with another cult favorite product of mine which is "In the Spotlight" today... Nope it isn't a fancy product like the MUFE Star Powder I talked about in my previous "Spotlight" post, rather it is the very unassuming and very easily available Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm... Now Nivea as we all know comes out with these various flavored lip balms but here in this post I am talking about only the fruity shine ones and that too the Guava flavor, which they previously sold as "Dragonfruit Flavor" :P The Nivea Mint Lip Balms are yum too but I find them kind of drying and they tend to get over very soon :( But not this one! Ladies this one sure is a keeper :)

What I really like about these balm sticks are that they are very light on the lips and yet give a sudden surge of moisture to my lips so much so that they feel soft, supple and yup even plumped up! They do not tend to become dry in the tube like my FabIndia and even TBS lip balms do in their…

Celebrity MakeUp: Malaika Arora...

Doesn't she look simply gorgeous? With a killer body like that and an attitude that says "I know you are looking at me", its difficult to go wrong...

Love her look here...

My only change would have been a bright red lippy rather than the berry-ish brown one :P

REVIEW: Parachute Advansed Summer Fresh Body Lotion

Of course you all remember how a while back many beauty blogs were buzzing with reviews of the newly launched Parachute Advansed Intensive Care and All Seasons body lotions... Well of course I had also received the samples, tried them and used them :) I am today proudly announcing to you all that I have finally finished the Intensive Care body lotion that was meant for Dry Skin :) I am in serious love with it :)

The day I finished it I received this Summer Fresh variant of the body lotion from the PR and well let me tell you that it has been more than week of me using it and well it is still going strong. I am being very honest when I tell you that since the day I had received my first sample from the Parachute Advansed people, the Garnier Body Cocoon that I used to swear by lays forgotten in one corner! I myself cannot believe it! :P

Well the Summer Fresh variant is a bit lighter than the intensive care version and more moisturising than the all seasons variant. It sits comfortable …
