MAC cosmetics does seem to have very interesting names for its eye shadows and lipsticks. Those who are working in the "nomenclature" department of MAC, I bow to thee. Such interesting and innovative names do deserve a round of applause. And one of them is MAC Humid. Would you seriously name an eye shadow Humid? I mean don't we relate humidity with a negative sense of the climate? Don't we say "Aggghhrrrrr I totally abhor the humidity in Mumbai" or "My hair gets soo frizzy in Kolkata's humidity" and yet they name their classic green shadow as "Humid" and well no one is complaining! :) Why? Cause with humidity I somehow relate plants and greenery. And so it seems very natural to me that a mossy green shadow be name d as Humid. Doesn't it make sense to you too? :P
MAC Humid is by far the BEST GREEN EYE SHADOW I have ever used. It is a flattering warm, olivey-mossy green that looks gorgeous on our type of skintones. I have had a tough time looking for a flattering green for my undertone and well MAC Humid seems to be the best bet :) It has this hint of a golden shimmer in it but it is very subtle and just results in a velvety golden sheen over the green shade :)

DeleteAh, Humid. This was my very first MAC eyeshadow ever. It is a little pricey, but NYX Mermaid Green is an exact dupe.
ReplyDeletehey chris :) Mermaid Green from NYX is it? But you know in India NYX shadows are almost as pricey as the MAC refill pans :P LOL... weird but sadly true :( btw read in your blog that you can cook aloo mattar? serious? Awesome! :) I am yet to learn how to cook it :)
DeleteOh no! I didn't think NYX would be too pricey in India. :( That's too bad. Maybe I'll do a giveaway in the future so you guys can get one. :) I visit www.manjulaskitchen.com to get my aloo mattar recipe. It's such a great website!

You are a sweetheart!!!what you think which will be a safe bet as a beginner! I dnt know which one to pic up, as all the red shades looks super awesome on you!!
Deleteok then whats your real skintone like and your fav celebrity in a red lippy :) i'll tell u which one to pick! :)
DeleteI am wheatish and i love red matt colour but with orange undertones!!!
Deleteooohhh thats easy then :) buy this one... Lakme Absolute Matte lipstick in Classic Rose... make sure your lips are well exfoliated and moisturized :) i would ve suggested Maybelline for a lesser price but they seem to have the highest content of Lead so STAY AWAY! :D
DeleteOnce you ve gotten comfortable wearing Red lippies with Lakme Absolute's Classic ROse, then your next buy should be Colorbar Velvet Matte Hot Hot Hot... once you are confident in both shades then sweetie you are ready to rock the world with your red lips ;)
