REVIEW & LOTD: Maybelline Clear Glow BB Cream

With all the hype going around about BB creams and stuff, it isn't a surprise that we are all very curious and excited about getting our hands on the newly launched Maybelline's BB Cream. I am no exception and I got myself the BB cream as soon as it was available in the stores :) The only difference lies in the fact that originally BB creams are an acronym for Blemish Balms but Maybelline's BB stands for "Bright Benefit". Huh? Yeah! :P

So anyways, I got myself this BB cream on Saturday from the Maybelline counter at Pantaloons where they were giving a discount of 15% off on all Maybelline products :) Yay Yay! Now you ask me as to how do I rate it? Well I kinda have mixed feelings about this product. It's good no doubt and it does make my skin look all even and blemish free and even flawless but I guess my discomfort stems from the fact that I am uncomfortable with anything on my face excepting moisturisers. I feel that I look artificial :( You guys take a look at my pic and tell me if it so.

The Maybelline BB cream comes in three variants: Nude, Radiance and Natural.

So how does it feel? I found it a bit drying not that it showed on my face. My skin actually looked wonderful and flawless. No complaints on that account. It truly makes me look blemish free and even toned. But texture wise the cream is a bight "tight", I mean it doesn't smoothen out easily and is not "runny". I'll do a point by point review of it in the coming sections :)

LOTD:
BB creak on face and upper neck. No BB cream at the base of my neck.

Ooohhss And Aaahhhss!!
1. True to it's claim it does brighten, evens out and makes the skin look all flawless and blemish-free.
2. Did not result in any reactions or irritation.
3. Does not make my skin oily at all, it rather mattifies my skin.
4.  It isn't very expensive.
5. Widely available at all Maybelline counters.
6. It doesn't oxidize or turn Orange
7. It isn't a foundation or a concealer and hence don't expect good coverage :)

Ouches!!
1. It costs Rs.199/- for just 15ml of product.
2. It feels a bit dry and not very hydrating.

Price
Rs.199/- for 15ml

Repurchase?
I think I will ;)

Would I Recommend?
If you are not uncomfortable with using foundations or bases and if you dont need much coverage then this is the right product for you :)

8/10

    1. sweetie nude, radiance and natural are three different variants for different skin tones. The SA at the counter will be able to help you out with which one to go for looking at your skintone :)

This does brighten the face nicely na.. But can't believe it made ur skin dry.. In my case I feel it made my skin a bit oily..it gave me a moisturised look for the first 3 hrs of wear and then started turning a bit greasy... Still testing it out tho..

  23. Just bought this today :) Though it was a thoroughly unnecessary purchase but you know that most of our purchases are like that, right? ;) I noticed that you got the shade Radiance...in the store it looked like it had a pink undertone, is that the case? I got 'Natural' and havn't yet tested it out on my face, I hope the shade isnt wrong :|

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. LOL understand when you talkl about "unnecessary" purchases :P You did good when u picked up Natural cause as the name states it does give u Natural glow :) *so no its not a wrong shade* just remember that after application, for the first 2-3 minutes you would look "WHITE" but dont panic it'll settle down in a couple of minutes and look all nice and Natural...

The shade radiance makes you look a bit whiter though and it somehow suited me better than Natural when i tried it at the store :P

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
