Meet The Bloggers: Beena of Beauty And Everything Else

This feature of "Meet The Bloggers" is special because of two reasons. One because it is the last Saturday of 2011 and second because today I am featuring on ISLM a very close and old friend of mine Beena :) Very few of you all know that Beena who I fondly call beenii is my college friend and my classmate :) We did our engineering together from MIT, Pune and have been friends since then. But then after college got over, we drifted apat, she got married and moved tot he US. And then? And then we met again on IMBB and well thanks to the beauty blogosphere, we are now closer than ever before :)

Of what I know of her, Beena is a very chilled out and a happy go lucky girl, with an ardent interest in dramatic eye make-up and also bright lips :) Her blog "Beauty And Everything Else" is a true reflection of what she is and how she sees the world :)

Blisscovered and LushBox: Is it really India's very own Birchbox?

Browsing through my blogger dashboard and facebook simultaneously (don't we all?), I came across Blisscovered and LushBox, which promises to be India's very own version of Birchbox. For those of you who have not heard of Birchbox yet, it is a monthly sampling service where you register for a particular amount and then go on receiving free samples every month according to the profile you have submitted with the service provider namely Birchbox for the USA and Blisscovered and Lushbox for well India :)

I got to know about Blisscovered from Tanveer's blog at http://addictedtoblush.com and Mehak's blog at Peaches And Blush

Do they live up to our expectations? Thats for us to try out! :)

LOTD: Welcome New Year 2012, Look1

I am yet to finalize my plans for the new years eve party this year and like every year for the past 5 years, I am sure we'll be hanging out with old friends at one of our apartments for drinks and then head to a restaurant for dinner, which is why I have decided to wear a pair of black skinny jeans with a blingey-glittery silver top and a pair of killer black heels :)

Now comes the makeup part... I am thinking of two kinds of looks... One would be with Red lips as many of you would have expected :P and the other would be a smokey eye look, which again isn't really a surprise for you guys ;)

So anyways, I did a silver smokey eye look today for you guys to tell me if it looks good enough for the new years eve party :) Let me know of your honest opinions girls :) I am counting on you all!

Let me know how you all find it :)

It’s not original, if it’s not “Vaseline® Petroleum Jelly”

Is your skin feeling dry even after applying Vaseline Petroleum jelly? Does it leave your skin looking rough and bruised? So are you using the original Vaseline® Petroleum Jelly? Nowadays the market is flooded with cheap products that look like the original Vaseline® Petroleum Jelly and are available at cheaper prices. But these moisturizers only last for a short time, making the skin drier which can cause more harm than good to your skin. The Original Vaseline® Petroleum Jelly is a combination of mineral oils, paraffin and microcrystalline waxes, which makes it translucent and gives it a smooth texture. It goes through a three step purification process, which involves hydrogenation to remove chemical purities in the jelly. Further, it undergoes double filtration to remove the finest unwanted particles, thus making it the purest and smoothest form of jelly.
Dry skin is caused by the loss of moisture in the layers of the skin, which happens every second of the day due to exposure to hars…

Hits of 2011

There isn't much time left to the new year and I get a feeling that 2011 went by really fast! I am looking forward to 2012 with a lot of hope and excitement but again I am looking back at 2011 with nostalgia and fondness as it saw me emerge as a more experienced blogger and helped me improve my make-up skills :) 2011 was also lucky for me because I could get my hands on some really fabulous products from a range of brands and also had a learning experience of what kind of products I should stay away from :P In short 2011 helped me mature as a beauty blogger and it has truly been a special year :)

REVIEW & LOTD: MAC Matte Lipstick in Chili

Rudolph the Red nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose... Think Christmas and colors that essentially pop up in your head are Red, Green and White... With Red so much in season and me in love with Red Lips, it was obvious that I would go and pick myself up another Red lippy :) Red lips might just seem something to be wary of, but if you trust me, I'd say Red lips is something that is the easiest to carry off... Am I crazy is what you ask but trust me... Of course I'll cover this in another post (so you guys do stay put).
Like I said I love Red lips and I love matte lippies, my obvious choice thus had to be MAC Matte Lipstick in Chili. MAC Chili, is one shade that I have been having a hard time finding a swatch or review for online, so I decided to do a review of it ASAP :)
MAC Chili is a matte lipstick and isn't exactly a blood Red. You may say that it is more of a brown based Red or more precisely a burnt orange based Red. Of course I have posted a comparison image in this p…

Meet the Bloggers: Kannu of Cookdokoo

Here ladies is yet another feature of "Meet The Bloggers" and I am hoping that you guys are having as much fun reading them as much as I have featuring them :) It's become an essential part of my weekly routine and it makes me really excited to decide on who would be featured on the upcoming features. Please note that I do not choose bloggers on any set criteria and neither is there a ranking or anything. I just try to be random in order to preserve the surprise element :)

This week, ISLM (ISimplyLoveMakeup) is featuring the very talented Kannu from "cookdokoo", who is comparatively new on the blogging scene. Her blog is an amalgamation of beauty, fashion, celeb gossip and cooking. A diploma holder from NIFT, Kannu is a fabulous designer as well as a great cook :) I know that from experience cause she is my co-sister :)

REVIEW & LOTD: NYX Round Lipstick in Rose

I love reviewing products. Why? Cause I love trying out new stuff and then judging and analysing them. Don't know but I guess it's just me :P So whenever I get myself a Haul I get sooo busy reviewing the "new" products that I totally forget the "older" products that I had bought earlier and are waiting to be reviewed. One such instance is the NYX Round Lipstick in "Rose". But Kannu from cookdokoo.blogspot.com very kindly asked me to swatch this lippy for her and well then I realised that I could do a review with it as well :) So Kannu, thank you :)

The shade Rose is a very pretty and a vibrant shade of Pink almost bordering towards Fuschia. It's a fun color and looks really gorgeous when worn during the day as well as at night.

Review & LOTD: Colorbar I-Glide Pencil in Blackout

This is going to be a short and sweet post about the blackest of all blacks in eye liner pencils. Colorbar I-Glide pencil in "Blackout" is a jet black liner that does not smudge, does not crease and does not transfer! It's simply perfect for times when you have to put in long hours but do not get the opportunity to touch up your make-up time and again. This is one reason why I find this best for office! :)

I use it as an eye liner on my upper lashline as well as a kajal on my lower waterline.

I will not list down its pros and cons cause they are same as it is for all I-Glide pencils. You can read my detailed review here

Price
It costsINR 325/-

Repurchase?
Definitely! As these pencils are really soft they need to be sharpened frequently and will get over pretty soon... So yup I will buy it again! :)

Would I recommend it?
Oh you bet!

9/10

Review & LOTD: Illamasqua Powder Blush in Morale

Ever happened to you that you hear people talking about something over and over again and then suddenly one fine morning you make up your mind to get it for yourself as well? LOL... That's exactly what happened to me when the biggies in the Indian Beauty Blog-o-sphere were all talking about "Illamasqua" day after day and well I had to have one too :P So when I got the opportunity I got myself this blush from Illamasqua and well yes I am glad that I did! :)

Illamasqua they say is make-up for your alter ego. It is for the bolder person hiding inside all of us. It is an act and an attitude. A symbol of tolerance. A celebration of idiosyncrasies. A confident statement of self-ownership.

The shade Morale, which is from the "theatre of the nameless" collection is a bold fuschia and it sure isn't the kind of shade that looks really bright in the pan but is pretty sheer and "wearable" in person. Rather, Morale is a shade that seems to be proud of its &q…

Hello people :)
This is gonna be a FYI post about my being MIA for a few days. Though I'll not vanish completely, I will be checking emails and comments from you guys but my post posting frequency will dwindle...

Meet The Bloggers: Anshita from Vanity No Apologies

The blogging world has given me some really good friends who have encouraged me, been supportive and have of course taught me loads of things... When I read their (your) comments, chat with you on FB/gtalk or even chat with you through comments on other blogs, I feel a sense of bonding with you all... I am sure you guys feel the same as well... We blogging friends are people who haven't really met each other and might not even ever meet each other but still gel with each other really well :) I just realised the other day that there are so many of my such friends that I would like to get to know more...

So, I am starting a feature called "Meet the Bloggers" where I will be featuring a blogger (anyone amongst) us every Saturday, so that we all get to know about each other :) You know spread the love ladies! :D
This week, Anshita from Vanity No Apologies is being featured...  She is a connoisseur of make-up and seems to prefer hoarding them rather than using them is what s…
